Getting started with Rails and the Oracle database
The IT-eye weblog has shared some tips and suggestions on [getting Rails up and running with the Oracle database server](http://www.it-eye.nl/weblog/2006/01/06/starting-with-ruby-and-oracle/).
In this post I’ll explore some ways of using Ruby with an Oracle database. I’ve installed ruby on my windows laptop and I’m using Oracle Express Edition running on CentOS using vmware.
The tutorial runs through all the steps on a Windows environment, but I’m sure many of these suggestions could be used in the Unix world as well.
