I am John Nunemaker and I do my best to record anything I learn regarding Ruby and Rails right here on RailsTips for all to enjoy. I first dabbled in Rails on July 23rd, 2005 and have worked full time in it since August 2006. Somewhere along the way, I co-founded the South Bend, IN Ruby Group and I am guaranteed to be found geeking out with them at least once a month.

Dwelling on the Past

I was a web developer for the University of Notre Dame’s Web Group for a few years, where I built a website management system in Rails from scratch, that is actually still kicking butt today (more info on the web group’s site). I was also the lead developer for the University’s 2007 redesign, building a flash video carousel and setting the web standards for the University for years to come.

Attacking the Present

I am currently a partner at Ordered List, Inc., where I do my best to create simple, usable websites and web applications. If you need design, usability or programming help, let me know.

I blog more specifically about web development (and some general thoughts) at Addicted To New, tumble occasional Juicy Tidbits, and keep all my open source projects on GitHub.

Contact Me

Email is by far the best way to contact me (nunemaker@gmail.com). You can also catch me on jabber with the same email and on AIM as johnnunemaker. Instant message is not the best form of communication and I may be sporadic.

I am happy to lend advice and support when I have time, but I won’t always. If you are interested in my company, Ordered List, working with you on a project, don’t be shy.
